STORZ

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy

Extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) is transcutaneous application of high energy acoustic waves to break down chronic adhesions and calcified tissue or promote healing and repair. Focused ESWT involves the application of acoustic waves transmitted in a narrow or focused pattern. First used in the early 1980s, this type of ESWT emerged as a non-invasive treatment known as lithotripsy to eliminate kidney stones. In the decades that followed the advent of lithotripsy, researchers began to examine other potential clinical applications for focused ESWT another form of shockwave therapy, known as radial ESWT. In contrast to focused ESWT, radial ESWT has acoustic waves that are transmitted in a more diffuse and radial pattern. Several studies demonstrate that utilizing both of these forms of shockwave together, offer the best chances for improved outcomes.

The O2 Lab- Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Dr. Mizuba is faculty staff for teaching hyperbaric oxygen therapy

Hyberbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a non-invasive therapy that is the most trusted way to increase oxygen levels to all organs and tissues of the body. Hypberaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is the use of an oxygen-enriched environment at the level of pressure higher than one atmosphere absolute (ATA). Increased pressure allows oxygen to dissolve and saturate more effectively in the blood system, primarily the plasma (independent of hemoglobin); which yields a broad variety of positive physiological, biochemical, and cellular effects. The treatment itself can usually last from 60 to 90 minutes. https://hyperbaricexperts.com

Corrective Exercises

We teach our patients specific exercises to help strengthen and correct their unique challenges.  Specific exercises are critical for recovery, especially as they may relate with concussion recovery or musculoskeletal and neurological injuries. As a sideline doctor and treating professional athletes, you can count on Dr. Mizuba advising the most effective and advanced strategies for recovery.

The Concussion Lab

Special consideration for managing traumatic brain injury (TBI) is taken by Dr. Mizuba and his staff. Ongoing training with the latest advanced TBI management strategies, as well as years of clinical and sports arena experience enable our office to implement the most effective treatment plan and improving positive outcomes. The combination of neurological cognitive assessments, hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), and specific guidelines of therapy offer a potent combination for those seeking relief from concussions and post-concussion syndrome. ImPACT protocols and diagnostics, as set by University of Pittsburgh School of Neurology. Gentle adjustments or mobilization may also be recommended for cervical complaints related to concussions.

Normatec Dynamic Compression Therapy

The Normatec PULSE Recovery Systems are dynamic compression devices designed for recovery and rehab for athletes and the
working man and woman.

We offer Normatec treatment for the legs, arms, or hips. Each session begins with a pre-inflate cycle, during which the connected attachments are molded to your body shape. Similar to the kneading and stroking done during a massage, each zone of the attachment will first compress in a pulsing manner and then release. This cycle repeats for each segment as the compression pattern works its way up your limb, aiding your body in expelling lactic acid and edema. httpss://www.normatecrecovery.com
